IS ENGLISH IMPORTANT FOR INDONESIAN KINDERGARTENS?



            Nowadays, we know that English language is one of the most used language in the world, even outside of England or America many people can understand English language because it is easy to learn for a lot of people in around the world. In Indonesia, English become an important education or subject for the students because in this era, it is become a global language. Now, English is one of the most important subjects in Indonesian kindergartens, because it can improve children skill before they move to elementary school.

          English for children in Indonesian kindergartens is important because it is the easiest global language if we compare it with mandarin language as the another global language. Studying English may be easier for the children in kindergartens because they have a good curiosity about everything and they want to try a new journey every day in kindergartens. The children are more interesting with drawing book or something else with a lot of colour. So the teacher should teach them using a drawing book or pencil colour, for the example the children could mention the colour or what is the animal in the drawing book in English or teacher can use a song to teach English for the children because if they enjoy the situation and condition in the classroom, it will be easier for them to understand.
English can be used as a introducing subject before the children going to elementary school, So they will be interesting to learn more about English because they has been learn English since they are in kindergartens. Grammar is not the most important part of English in kindergartens, teacher can teach about number, colour, animal, fruit, song and many more, because it is basic part of language to understand before they learn about grammar or something else.
If English be taught in kindergartens, it can help the children because they can understand a lot of things such as using internet, smart phone and many more. Because in this era, smart phone and internet is important to help them to learn more about English or learn about everything they want in daily life.

        As we know that some people in Indonesia disagree if English be taught in kindergartens, because they think that English is difficult subject for children and it can cause to disturb children language, ministry of education and culture (KEMENDIKBUD) said that English language should be start to taught at Junior high school because they think that it is the ideal time to learn English. Some parents thought that English should not be taught in kindergartens because they afraid it can make their children afraid with English because maybe English can be the difficult subject in kindergartens. If we back in the days when their parents be a student, it is reasonable if they think that English may can be the difficult subject because not a lot of old people in these day cannot understand English language well. The another reason is that only some of children who interesting with English language, so it is difficult to find the best way to educate the another children who does not interesting with English.

         Behind the controversy that English should be taught in kindergartens or not, the fact is children in this era cannot stay away from English language, for the example when they using a gadget, or watching film with English language, unconsciously they have learned English with the easiest and basic step to learn it. A lot of people in Indonesia learn English well are not from school, but a lot of them learn English from listening to music, watching film or playing video games. So if in kindergartens English language does not exist, the children still can learn it with another ways, gadget is the best answer if they want to learn English well because gadget provide everything. YouTube is the best platform in gadget because children can find everything they want to learn, but parents should control and watch them when they want to use gadget because nowadays we can find everything on internet.

        English language as the most important language in around the world may become a controversy when it should be taught, but the fact is, nowadays, the children should understand English even it is not good enough because almost everything in their daily life is using English language, internet, gadget, are the little example of it. I think that English is still the best subject that children in kindergartens should learn because the fact is, they have learned English from any platform in their daily life. So, there is no reason to wait until in junior high school to learn English because agree or disagree, English is important for our daily life this day.
